I found the distinction made today between the translational model and the anthropological model very interesting. The translational model takes ideas from the culture and translates those into the context of Christianity to fit the essence of the gospel. The anthropological model looks at a culture for ways in which Christ is already present, and points out those similarities. It does not try to remove those things from the culture in order to create something new, but allows worship to occur still within the culture itself.
